Planning a District 16 Debate

I’m pleased to announce that I’ve reached out to both Republican candidates, Randy Sams and Rodney Wright, to discuss the possibility of a debate following the primary. While only one candidate will ultimately become the Republican nominee, I believe in planning responsibly and ensuring transparency with the voters of District 16.

I would greatly value the opportunity to share a debate stage with either candidate, so the people of our district can hear directly from us—about our views, our priorities, and most importantly, how we each plan to serve the constituents of District 16 and the state of Arkansas.

Civil and substantive debate is a cornerstone of a healthy democracy. It allows voters to compare ideas, evaluate character, and make informed decisions rooted in reason, respect, and a shared commitment to the common good. Holding ourselves accountable to the voters through open, honest dialogue is a vital part of public service, and it is exactly the standard I intend to uphold throughout this campaign.

I look forward to a thoughtful and constructive forum in the months ahead and to continuing the conversation about how we can best serve the people of District 16.

"I’m not running for office to recite slogans — I’m running because I believe Arkansas deserves leadership rooted in respect, driven by resolve, and committed to renewal. Respect means every Arkansan, no matter where they live or who they are, is treated with dignity and heard with intention. Resolve means we don’t shy away from hard truths — we face them with courage and clarity. Renewal means we rebuild trust in our institutions and restore hope in our communities.

I believe in Common Ground because we’re stronger when we listen before we argue. I believe in Common Sense because good policy should be practical, not partisan. And I believe in the Common Good because public service should serve all, not just a few.

This isn’t just a campaign — it’s a call to come together. This is our moment."
